Archives for the month of: May, 2011

Sweet stationery from US artist Jill Bliss is a Frond favourite and fills the store with an atmosphere of Pacific breezes, California sunshine, and fresh Oregon fragrances all the way from Jill’s native West Coast. Her charming art panels and finely illustrated journals and notebooks are a delight to behold!

Delightful new pieces from Kirstin Ash are in store and their autumnal whimsy is a sweet match for these chilly mornings we’ve been having. So get your cosy on with a dandelion pendant, an acorn charm, or a red robin locket and enjoy the novelty of the morning brrrrrrr!

I suffer from a mild case of Facebook Phobia (not helped by a recent viewing of the film Catfish) but have managed to put my networking nerves to one side and sign up Frond for some virtual flourishing. My Facebook reluctance is not really rational - just a mixture of a vague fear of being “found out” for something (I’m not sure what – but aren’t people always being busted on Facebook by bosses, exes, police etc?), a general clumsiness and ignorance around anything that involves “apps”, and a terror of 10,000 people crashing my next Frond launch because I’ve inadvertently sent an invite out to the entire Facebook community. Corey Worthington I am not!

But Frond is wanting some Facebook love so who am I to stand in the way? All you friendly Facebookers can now supplement your regular Frond dose with updates here. The blog and emails will continue as usual and, best of all, the real-life, non-virtual Frond store welcomes real-life visits from real-life people (no creepy blue avatars please!) and is full of real-life charming treasures and treats! Look forward to seeing you soon – in the this world or the virtual one. xx

Fresh new Dinosaur Designs in store now. Yum.

I’ve managed to nab a small final selection of Kim Wallace’s beautiful lace dishes before she closes up the wonderful Udessi studio and heads home to the Netherlands for a while. Her wonderful range has such a strong Frond following and these charming pieces will be much missed. Also in store is a collection of her sweet lace “heart” ornaments which Kim originally sold through her site to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Frond is happy to continue this lovely gesture of support by donating 50% of all lace heart sales to the Foundation.

Hullo lovely Frondettes! Too long a time between posts, I know, but I have the wonderful excuse of having been on holiday in France for a couple of weeks – an excuse which I feel incredibly lucky to have. What a fabulous place, what a beautiful time we’ve had. Feeling full of inspiration (not to mention full of fromage and vin rouge) and happy to be back in Frond in the lead up to the Dry season and Frond’s First Birthday. There are lots of GORGEOUS things coming this way and I’ll be doing plenty of updates so stay tuned for new arrivals and announcements.

In the meantime, wishing you all a happy Monday. Bonne journée et à bientôt! xx
